Guide Dog

A normal working guide dog works for between 5-6 years. there are nearly 5000 guide dogs being used by there owners as guide dogs in the UK. they breaded more than 1300 dogs each year and in 2013 alone they gave lots of people with disability's a guide dog.


the people who train or give guide dogs get no money from the government funding and depends interlay on community support.


guide dogs have been trained for many things like if someone is in a wheel chair some dogs have been trained to open the door by a rope attach to the door or maybe to go get the phone for the owner.

I watched a YouTube clip one time were the guide dog was told to bring the blind and deaf owner to bring him to the nearest food shop and the dog help cross the lights e.g. pressing the button and if there was a car coming to fast towards the light he will tell his owner by pulling him back wards just in case the car wasn't stopping.





I found this video very spectacular because I didn't think a dog could do all the stuff with just training.

Dogs evolution facts

Evidence based on behaviour has led to the current widely scientific understanding that all breeds of  dog have evolved. Humans and dogs have evolved through living together for over 12,000 thousand years. scientists have proven that dogs are highly intelligent. they have research and test on dogs behaviour and act around humans.


scientists have also proven that dogs use language to tell humans when they want something e.g.


when they wants to go to the toilet the might scratch on the door or might squeal.
my dogs if she wants to play she might if u are on the phone sitting down she will go under my arms onto my face and either lick me or squeak the ball in my face. or drop be side and make funny sounds so it means she wants to play. And also dogs have a 7 senses some of them are when they are excited they  tail starts wagging of a happy dog or the bared teeth of an angry or threatened animal.

This is a grey wolf these are what started the dog specie. most of the scientists have agreed that dogs as we now today, came from the grey wolf along time ago. because the scientists have DNA tests and the grey wolf is more DNA related to dogs.









Dogs were the first tamed animals. Dogs have been mans best friend for almost 10' 000 years. Scientists have experimented that all dogs have a common ancestor which is a south Asian wolf. With out us humans most species of dogs would be dead cause they cant survive in the wild. Most dogs have been known to be related to fox's, wolves and jackals.

Dogs have been around for between 16 000 to 30 000 years. They decided to stay around humans because the humans left there left over food and so the wolfs thought to stay around them because the didn't have to hunt for food and as they did this for years a they gained trust between each other and that led to 'mans best friend'.

K9 dogs are mostly used for missions or things that humans cant do e.g. sniffing for people or drugs. Cause humans noses are as powerful as dogs noses cause dogs noses have a really strong sense of smell.

these types of dogs are trained to save lives and help there owner when needed. some dogs have been life saving dogs some have been dogs that have sadly taken there life for there country.

These dogs have been trained to help fight crime. e.g. chase after criminals, sniff out things like drugs at airports or on the street hiding or searching for people.

Police dog facts

K9 dogs and officers were first used in America in 1907 in New York City. Some of the dogs used in unit came from animal shelters small bit. Police dogs live with their handlers home while the owner is on duty and after the k9 is in retirement. This means they bond for life with their handlers and dog will always be part of the police family. Their handler feeds, grooms and takes care of the dog like they are their own pet.

 

Police dogs can tell the difference between identical twins. While this may fool the eyes of a human, dogs are trained to use their noses. K9s are trained to sniff out electronics. Last year the 'Huffington' Post reported on the first canine-assisted search for computer equipment. The dog was able to find a thumb drive hidden four layers deep inside of a tin box in a metal cabinet.  Police dogs played an important role in searching for people doing things illegally during the 9/11 attacks. More than 100 search and rescue dogs looked for survivors. Persians, Greeks, Babylonians and Assyrians were the first cultures to use dogs with the police.

Why do dogs attack people? In the case of joggers, runners, bikers, etc., it's because the motion of the person triggers their prey drive. However, not every dog will naturally decide to chase down and bite someone who's moving too quickly. Those dogs that do have learned to do it — again, because of human negligence.
